Let the Repurposing Begin!

Hellooooooooooooooooooo Blogosphere! Today marks the first day of the rest of my blog life. I've thought about it, had false starts, resisted it, and finally just decided to dive right in. Honestly, when people would ask me, "Do you have a blog?" I always wondered what on earth I would blog about. Just because I'm a writer by trade doesn't automatically mean that I have a topic I am so passionate about that I could write about it for days at a time. Or do I?

In fact, my blog friends, it turns out I do!

It took countless relatives, friends, and nosey neighbors seeing my home decor creations and all saying, "That was what?!" before I realized that I do have another passion outside of writing. I L.O.V.E. finding things, preferably inexpensive things, and transforming them into beautiful home decor statements, and I think it's about time I shared my creations with the world...well, at least the fraction of the world that might happen upon my blog. Anywho...Let the posts begin!

I am SO glad to know that your friends & nosey neighbors influenced you to write this blog!!!My baby Sis shared your ottoman with me on facebook from HomeTalk...of course I HAD to look at the process ;o) STUNNING WORK!! Oh Nikki, you and I could get in SO much trouble together at slavage stores, thrift shops, etc.!!! And now, you've kicked my brain into a MUCH higher gear...thanks darlin!! :) Looking forward to seeing MANY more of your awesome creations!! :)

The older I get, the more creative I become. Believe you me, it took a few years to get to where I am today. Your ottoman was a kick in the brain, "how can I transform that regular, everyday whatchamajiggit into my next home decor object of wonderfulness." I look forward to reviewing your other ideas!

Hi AppGal! This Social Media thing is no joke! Nothing like sharing ideas with people who don't mind trying new things and learning together! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a message.

Carol, I guess that's another good thing about getting older! My grandmother lived to 105...if I'm lucky enough to live that long imagine what I'll be creating by then!

Just found your blog and I too love to repurpose as many things as possible. I love when something turns out beautiful and I can say it didn't cost much! Great blog! Reading others ideas just stirs up my creativity! Like taking a recipe and giving it your own flare! I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Just found your blog through Addicted 2 Decorating and WOW what a great imagination you have! The only concern for me was a "tire" smell which you already addressed in another comment. Now...where can I use one of these.....

I have fallen in love with your blog! I love to repurpose things, but almost always end up wondering how to do it or what in the world to turn the random extras in my home into. I can't wait to see more of your projects - you are pretty amazing!!

Thanks, Karen! I've been tied up with tire ottomans lately so I haven't had much extra time to blog, but stick around, I'll be back!

Nikki,

I love your blog! Thank you for your creativity. This has helped my tremendously. I have been debating on buying a console for my hallway. I believe I am going to borrow your idea. And, OMG, I just love the tire ottoman!!! I am definitely purchasing your ebook...
